Llanddowror Meeting Room, Llanddowror

Llanddowror is a small village a couple of miles west of St Clears. It used to be on the main route from Carmarthen to Pembroke and Pembroke Dock, but a bypass from just east of the village, outside St Clears, to Red Roses further west, was opened in April 2014. As a result the village is now far quieter and more attractive, and activities such as the annual Carten100 cycle race as well as local cycling and walking groups are able to take place. There are numerous bed and breakfast places in the village and close to it, because it is off the main road, but travel is easy and quick to go westwards to Pembroke, Haverfordwest, or indeed to Ireland, and the main dual carriageway east past St Clears and on to Carmarthen and the M4 is only a couple of minutes away.

The Meeting Room is in the centre of the village. It was only built in the last few years, as a result of grant money given to convert the public toilets and extend the building to create a meeting space for the village. There is some disabled parking right outside, and a slope with a handrail up to the entrance.

The room itself contains 20 chairs and 6 tables that can be arranged as suits the user for a meeting, a round table discussion, or a presentation. There is a wall-mounted television that can be attached to a user's laptop for displays or presentations. There is an adjoining small kitchen with kettle, fridge and crockery/cutlery for use in the room. There is also an adjoining toilet, as well as the disabled toilet available in the adjacent building.

The room is currently used for regular groups in the community, but the Council welcome enquiries from individuals or groups who may be interested. Contact the Clerk of the Council on the information below in the first instance. Charge for use is £10.00 an hour, and the Council requests that the room is left as it is found because there is no caretaker or cleaner.
